Popular with the stars, even Hugh Hefner showed up with one of his playmates to watch the ending... in the '70s, I used to work for Playboy as a Bartender at the Lake Geneva Hotel & Resort in Wisconsin, but thats another story that I should keep to myself. Check out the website if you are interested in going to one of the events around the world or if you have the dough, enter your car in the race. By the way, the price for entering is $70,000. Otherwise, they will be releasing a DVD for those of us in the slow lane.

Evadale's Sweetheart Racer I stopped by Ben Bruce Memorial Airpark Raceway in Evadale, Texas to cover some great 10.5 Drag Racing and as I was walking around, people kept asking if I was there to see Brittney run... apparently the track sweetheart, 20-year-old Brittney Findley has made a name for herself since the age of 13 when she won a mud race with her father's 4WD Toyota pickup.
Well, the staff took me over to meet her and her family. I learned that in February 2005 her father purchased a super comp dragster and thus began her formal drag racing spree. The fans are behind her when she runs and recently ran for 2000 people... all of them on their feet when she did a 7-second pass in Jimmy Thibodeaux's dragster. In her own words: "My goal is to become another popular name in drag racing like Melanie, Hillary and Erica." So Brittney plans to get her NHRA license and wants to go to a drag racing school to learn more. So if you have a chance to go to the Ben Bruce Memorial Airpark Raceway, make sure you catch her race. It will not be long before she is up there with Melanie Troxel, Hillary Will, Ashley Force & sisters and Erica Enders. I plan on being there to see her in Houston to see her get her license and I'll keep you updated on her progress.
HEMI Birthday! Next year is the 50th birthday of the Hemi Engine and many things are in the planning for Mopar fans. As a saying from Don "Big Daddy" Garlits, "The Hemi is drag racing, it would not be the same without it." We whole-heartedly agree... in fact, after 50 years, I still have my Hemi and it's still kicking a** and takin' names. Stay tuned to the Hemi Birthday events on this website.
Girls Have Hemis Too! Yeah, Pro-Stock star Erica Enders has joined Don Schumacher Racing to drive a Dodge Stratus. Also, Gene Wilson will drive the other car. This is a smart move by Mopar for the company as well as the fans. I can just imagine the new Hemi commercial featuring John Reep... Hey! That thing got a Hemi? Erica replies: Yeah, girls have Hemis too! Now that Mopar put her in a new pro-stock Hemi Challenger, watch their sales go skyward!
